Our Story

Fledge & Thread began with soft furnishings in 2021, when artist and designer Keren Elizabeth Fraser returned to painting (whilst on maternity leave) and started creating the pieces she couldn’t find anywhere else for her children. In 2023 we expanded our ranges into apparel, bedding and accessories for little ones.

Every print starts as an original hand-painted artwork, then we bring it to life through our own pattern making and production, across baby and children’s apparel, bedding and accessories.

Storybook Friends Soft Toys Collection

Each friend begins as a hand-painted illustration in our Perth studio before being thoughtfully brought to life as a soft toy, with hand-finished details and hand-stitched faces that make every piece truly unique. No two Storybook Friends are ever exactly the same.

Created to be more than just soft toys, each Storybook Friend is a character with their own personality, story, and world to belong to. Every toy comes with a story card and access to a matching audio story in our Story Library, allowing little ones to listen, follow along, and build a deeper connection with their friend. These audio stories turn cuddle time into story time, helping imagination grow while creating calm, meaningful moments together.

Our Storybook Friends are designed to be collected and cherished, with each character also having their own dedicated collection across our range. From clothing and blankets to nursery pieces and gifts, families can build a matching world around their favourite friend - creating a cohesive story that grows alongside your child.
